What You Mean To Me
I am alive, and that will never change.
Though death may come to take me from your gaze,
the thoughts we share, ideas that we exchange
will last beyond the number of my days.
I am alive and that cannot be changed.
Though my will will lose its animation
And all my substance will be rearranged,
It’s only physical transformation.
I am alive and know that this is true,
Though not since I possess neurology
And therefore know I am, but due to you,
And I don’t mean our physiology.
Because there’s only now, and we embrace,
I am alive beyond all time and space.
