What Use Is There In Crying

What Use Is There In Crying

"When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled."

And led to his beloved Lazarus, and on seeing him there dead, Jesus wept.

Oh, what use is there in crying alone!?
Oh, what use is there in crying together!?
Oh, what good can come with tears from Christ!?
Oh, who can hear our prayers... when we are weak and not strong?

Lift up your voice... "Dear God!!!" Wail!
Behold how he, Jesus too, can love!

Then faith entered the room and Jesus felt its presence.
It was quietly ushered in with hope, and floated with love.
"Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?"
Oh! What use is it to have cried!?
      To cry?
         To cry?

From their prayers, He cometh to the grave,
thus removing the stone from cave,
not even stench will make him deny.

But that they wouldest believe,
thou shall see the glory of God!

Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said,
   Father, I thank thee
      that thou hast heard me.

What tears now rain from sorrow,
that Jesus Christ did so borrow,
and from eyes lifted to his Father, he called...
   he who wept for me.

And when he thus had spoken, he cried...
   he cried...
      he cried
with a loud voice he cried, Lazarus, come to me.
      And came forth did he,
bound by hand, bound by foot, and bound by head,
the graveclothes that covered Lazarus as the dead.

And bound no longer are we,
like Lazarus, God has set us free.

Jesus saith unto them,
   let him go, loosen him.
"Then many of the Jews which came to Mary,
and had seen the things which Jesus did,
      believed on him."

Because you believe, that in your hearts and with mouth profess,
   death thy sting is powerless.

But for some whose heart a tear they can't conceive,
   ran away to the Pharisees,
and told them what things Jesus had done.

What have you done ... what have you done?
You rather remain bound by clothes meant for death
so that from your deeds you can profess
          is your worldly happiness
and that you did not cry?

For that... we cry...
   for that... we cry...
and "Jesus Wept"
