What They Say It Is
WHAT THEY SAY IT IS.
The fashion and law which euphemize every flaw
Is the reason for different notions.
He who's bald, grave authority is extolled,
The insolent is brave and bold,
The snuffler & bulbous-snouted are only suffering from cold,
The squint-eyed has a roving glance,
The cripple does not like to dance,
The ignoramus is taken ajar by wisdom
Which he can not fathom,
The shameless is daring,
The heavy buttocks is abundant blessing,
He who stays indoors is too busy
The madman goes for free and easy,
The hunchback passes for well-loaded
One who's not in love with beauty is blinded
To the lady, courtesy is to flatter
The one in who pleases the society is better
One who's constant in his trust, they take for 'simple, dull & dense'
Unlike righteousness, religion is nothing but pretence,
The medical scholar still in his final year
is called a doctor for his course of study, knowledge & flare,
The big-mouthed who's always railing is fearless,
He who has too many responsibilities at work, to his wife he care less,
A wife who does not break the rule is simply dull,
In naija, sport freaks are those who watch football,
A peacemaker and one who's forgiveable is too cool,
A virgin who's virtuous and holy is a fool;
SO IS THE NOTION AND MISCONCEPTION LIFE AMPLIFIES
And the image of the world filled with different lies.
