What sunset feels like

How can anyone hate sunsets?

The trees that know secrets and gossip instantly go speechless.

The chirping birds start to hover in the sky, wishing the light would linger a little longer.

A few more moments of the rays finding my eyes through the spaces between the tall trees.

At 6:00 in the evening, every day, the world’s chaos comes down to a calm stillness.

Weather that feels like the happy ending of your favourite movie.

The pure gold in the sun brings light to our lifeless eyes.

A moment where you and your soul have conversations that are often left unspoken.

Understanding that your thoughts and your mind meet once a day,

and suddenly, loneliness feels like something that exists only in the outside world.

A mixture of peace, melancholy, longing—

a touch of all those grey emotions that somehow make it feel ethereal.

That’s what sunsets feel like.
