What Magic Doth New Love Possess

What magic doth new love possess
That tempts the moon at night,
To warmly glow, and fully so,
With beams of velvet light?

That gives the heart the will to smile,
And the sparrow, feathered wings--
What magic doth new love possess,
To achieve such lovely things?

The imagery is perfect, it gives love a magical must have warm feeling. It's like the sweet constellation, dipping into my world of magic. This is amazing. I think it's startling to look at love this way. The contrast between the moon at night and then that beautiful velvet light, was the perfect touch. And I recall a summer night, the two of us locked in a tender embrace, and the moon was--quite literally, glowing full and bright. It seemed, even then, that the moon was shinning just for us; hence, the poem. You are now a member of my Romantics only Society--and welcome!
