What Is Love
Beginning with what it is not
Being certainly not transience we can slot
Calling a spade a spade
Love not an exchange or trade
‘I love you provided you reciprocate’
‘If your look is not endearing, my love will abate’
Moving deeper
We see ourselves forgiving the ‘sinner’
Useful no doubt for self healing
Yet not love as arising from judgmental feeling
The need to forgive owing to injury we perceive
Belied expectations miring us in nets ego did weave
Once we get to acceptance
We get free of words like ‘forgiveness’ or ‘repentance’
Love not the random donation
For self satisfaction
Not self adulation on the social circuit
Proclaiming our perceived merit
Love nothing to do with limited thought
Ego begot
Yet in even these love distortions
Diffused and convulsed reflections
They still have inherent positivity
Steering us towards interconnectivity
Doing more good than harm
Momentarily entwining hearts warm
Now moving on to what love is
The divine elixirous fizz
Love shining self-existent
Standing erect and independent
A becoming
A blossoming
Upon mind-body transcending
Non-judging and all embracing
Without clinging
Simply ceaselessly outpouring
We may call it a magnetic electricity
Invisible and intuitive instant connectivity
With all hearts
All within, none apart
Divine love energy an impulse pulsating
Enlivening, empowering and uplifting
Having colourations of beauteous variety
Joy, empathy, compassion, bliss & purity
Each nuance a definitive transition
Marking recognisable ascension
And yet each hue
As it does renew
Imperceptible to thought limited
Which is confined to narrowness computed
Love being a benign bliss explosion
Ignition within renewing in continuation
Heightened ecstasy and rapture
A transcendence mind cannot capture
Love a fulcrum shift
Wherein we are no longer loosely adrift
A universal connection deep
As the elixirous pulse does osmotically seep
Into every pore of our being
Inside out enlivening & tingling
Love a pull magnetic
A lived reality vibrant, self-realised & eclectic
An innocence simple
Our orientation spherical
As we imbibe the divine miracle
Its delineation ineffable
As is-ness of being-ness complete
Overflowing with the nectar divine replete
Love the only real vibration
We automatically align in resonation
Being the true essence
Of all existence
It is That that is permanent
Self existent and immanent
