What Is His Name

The party’s going well, the drinks are flowing fast,
When someone saunters over from my long and distant past.
‘Hello’ I say sheepishly, for his name I do not know,
Is it Frank or maybe Steve? I hope it doesn’t show.

‘Where are you working these days?’ a fishing exercise,
But I still don’t know his name, something I’m struggling to disguise.
‘I’m sorry’ he says ‘but I cannot place your name’
‘Me neither’ I reply ‘ but it’s Ronnie all the same’.

A FAVE for me, Ronnie! What a world of sociological commentary could be replaced by your remarkable poem, which probably resonates with anyone who's ever met up with their past!! Bravo! Cheers, gw

Don't you just hate when that happens? In my line of work many have worked for me throughout the years and every once in a while an old employee will see me and I am left in the same predicament. Really well done Ron. I love the humor I find on your page.

Thanks Chris. Yeah happens to me from time to time. I think it's an age thing as well. It's like trying to remember an actors name and then you find you cannot remember the film he is in either! Hope all is well my friend..Ron :)
