What Is a Friend
Someone who shares the world with you
Their hopes, their dreams,
Welcoming embraces, secrets
Best Friend kisses.
Never judging, always wishes
For nothing but the best
Sometimes life gets in the way
But somehow we never change.
Years can go by without being seen
Every time we're together and talk
Without a thought
I feel like it was yesterday.
Always know that in my heart
There will never be another like you
When you think of me
Remember I think of you.
Almost 20 years and counting
A friendship I cherish everyday
You always believed in me
Now is the time for me to shine.
