What Inspires Us

What really inspires us?
What do we write about?
Is it something inside us?
Desperate to get out…

Are the words all in there?
Just waiting for release
Do we need attention?
Does it have to be a masterpiece?

Some find love inspires
Others find inspiration in hate
Some find it in nature
Some think it is just fate.

There are some that know not why they write
There are others that wouldn’t want too
To those that struggle sometimes
I say please do not worry, don’t be blue.

The words will come to you
And remember there’s no hurry
Just wait a while be patient
There is no reason to worry.

You will suddenly find one day
That all your poetic abilities burst forth
Your pen will leave a smoke trail
And there will be no stopping you henceforth

So take your time relax
There is more to life than words
Don’t let them your brain tax
Cos that would be absurd.

You have it in you to inspire others
To place the paper under the pen
And when you read what you inspired
You will take up the pen again.

Write on Mandy! I really like what you said about each one of us having the ability to inspite - too often people sit down and wait for inspiration instead of focusing on the gifts they already have. Well penned - definitely a call for action.

Mandy a grate poem that has inspired all who write. Our minds go blank, or fatigued and nothing. A divine influence is needed at times to fire-up out neurons. Thanks for your poem that is reality for all of us here at one time or another. Warm Smiles Always, Connie

I like this Mandy and it describes my writing experience. I started late in life and after I had a few words of appreciation I have been a writing maniac. Thank you for your kind words about my "False Lover". I wrote it for a contest in an involved rhyme form and not my usual style. Thanks for your encouragement. Love, Joyce
