What If I Told You
What if I told you the end was nigh
Would you take it as fiction or fact?
If there in the dark, waiting I lie
Would you think my faculties in tact
Or join me in wondering why
What if I said I can see what's to come
Would you think me a prophet or fraud
That I know all? Or a small bit of some
Cursed with a touch of the odd
Offbeat to my own silly drum
What if I regailed you with stories of yore
Would you assume me a foolish liar?
And entertaining these tales a chore
Or maybe a chance in advance your retire
You'd consider I had been there before
