What If

What if there's nothing after this? If it were so and for sure, we knew what changes would we make or do? Oh, it's easy to say I'd do it all again, the same, I've no regrets. In actuality, I do. Having never said enough I love yous; smiling when I wanted to cry; slipping my hand in yours, walking side by side, wiping patiently the tears from your eyes, laughing at your silly jokes, curtailing my hurtful words, understanding we were different yet the same, being truthful not playing empty games, whispering most passionately your name; sadly there are no do overs in the end not even a chance of trying again. What if there is nothing after this and I'm not here to remember that final kiss? If only I could do it all again few things would remain the same beyond the memory of me and you embracing all I would need to say is I loved you.
