What I never told you

Your eyes gleam in the dark-

like a fox's- golden flecks illuminated,

in the mists of your eyes,

as the breeze brushes through your hair,

I've always ached to follow.

My favorite color is your dark green.

I told you that, didn't I?

And the sound of your voice-

even though you are terribly silent at times,

lost in your own fantasies,

wrapped in shadows.

You'd say white didn't suit you,

but it makes you shine- from within,

and your dark brown skin glows.

I told you that, didn't I?

And so many times, I've yearned to tell you

how beautiful you are,

everytime you sit beside me,

a silent comfort to each other,

quiet from a rejection,

you, the hopeless romantic,

falling in love with everyone,

except the only one who has ever thought

of you with nothing

but a deep ache in her heart-

the kind she knows

will never be returned

I loved you.

I never told you that, did I?

I wish I had.
