What Goes Around

I don't think that I have ever stopped~ I mean, come to a full halt or rest always been a habitual wonderer, even questioning my questions a times~ if that makes sense? always a pencil and paper on my bed-stand, for quick access~ my muse also a light sleeper... seeming to me that many people experience so they have something to write about; while I am definitely more inclined, to write about, and then, perhaps, if and when so inclined falter to re-experience, the already written...when in less creative gear... now wondering, into the wee hours, if experience is, as much, or even more the experience, before the actual physical/mental experience, preceated by myself, for myself, or mine created by others by themselves, but not exclusively, necessarily for themselves~ the ripple effect of experience?

to write about, and then, perhaps, if and when so inclined falter to re-experience…we have the true experience and then the reverberating waves in perception - ours, other people’s, through the ages, through old eyes, through the young, through strangers and intertwined with other experiences…the list goes on <3

Your method of writing down ideas as they come, is a great one, Joe. I enjoyed your poem a lot. :)

I'm sure we all throw away some of our efforts and keep some. I often save my title for after my poem is written, as well, and sometime I title the poem first, and attempt to write around that theme. It's a sure thing that what you write is of great value to many, Joe. Happy holidays. :)

Hi Evelyn; it's really the way I write all of my works, even those that seem more traditionally structured. I title my works after I am done, having read over many times, and made sort of a summary of worth and meaning. If I can't decide...the waste paper basket. I think I throw away at least as much as I keep. No~ more. Lot's of times I will keep only one sentence or phrase out of an entire write, and that becomes the theme for a totally different start. I hope at least some of what I write, even a small amount, has some value to someone other than myself. Blessings my friend.

So interesting how you think, Joe. Sometimes I fail to write something awesome that came to me. it's quite disappointing.

Pencil and paper on the night table or stand. I've trained my mind to purposely awaken me at night, after a few hours rest...when earth's many thought vibrations are less, allowing me to think less disturbed.

The experiences of life cause one pause and reflection. Lots to think about in this poem.

I admire your practical wisdom Joe, a pen and paper on your bed stand. Mostly in half wakefulness, I get ideas, but on waking up they must have evaporated into thin air. In your case it won't happen. It is nice that for a light sleeper like you, a muse who too is a light sleeper has come as a companion. Really enjoyed.

Hi Valsa; it is not my original idea, having read this years ago, when I first thought to be a serious/not-so-serious writer. Pencil though, not pen, for the ink flows away from the tip, when held upside down, driving you crazy. Like a world, topsy-turvy. Thank you so much for commenting. Blessings!

yes our muse takes us in many directions, ... not only those of our own life's reflections, .. but we definitely spin off others experiences to relate our own.... or try to answer pondered questions on life or the great unknown..... Your poem was wonderfully written Joe and very much food for thought. My wretched muse doesn't sleep well either, the pen and paper is a great idea, much better than getting up and waiting for the PC to fire up.

Yes!~ "yes our muse takes us in many directions, ... not only those of our own life's reflections, .. but we definitely spin off others experiences to relate our own.... or try to answer pondered questions on life or the great unknown....." This is a wonderfully poetic comment, Wendy. You should publish this as a short work on your web site. It is profound and exciting.
