What Eyes Will See, and Ears Will Hear

I long for a time when perception will grow
When in place of seeing a person’s coloring
Instead, we will see their humanity glow
For the way you perceive them is everything…

When we will see the uniqueness of their dress
Know that it displays a different tradition
Heads are covered out of faith, not to impress
To respect them should be our ultimate mission…

To hear a new accent, and not be annoyed
But recognize the uniqueness of their sounds
And listen, their voices to be enjoyed
Like a symphony, their variety abounds…

Someday perception will have only one view
Not of Them and Us, but of Me and You.
