What Else Had I Missed

Wizened chin
Hunched shoulders
His walk is slow
Ambling really

Zombie movements
Erratic 
Not graceful
Boots must hurt

Older now
Ten years 
Has made a significant
Difference

I did not realize
While I was gone
How much this would
Affect him

Nothing had ever
Changed him this
Much before.
Guilt set in.

What else had I missed?

They rarely are.

It's funny how you can suddenly notice the aging/ changes all of a sudden.
