What Else Had I Missed

Wizened chin Hunched shoulders His walk is slow Ambling really Zombie movements Erratic Not graceful Boots must hurt Older now Ten years Has made a significant Difference I did not realize While I was gone How much this would Affect him Nothing had ever Changed him this Much before. Guilt set in. What else had I missed?

Sometimes you gain perspective with distance and time, also vividly described, especially 'wizened chin' and 'zombie movements'-

It is interesting how we often think things will be the same after years have gone by. They rarely are.

This reminds me of my father (several years ago)... when I realized how delicate and frail he'd become. It's funny how you can suddenly notice the aging/ changes all of a sudden.

It reminds me of my father also; big changes I noticed not at all for many years, but when they hit me, they hit me.
