What Do Your Senses Tell
Did I evolve from a single cell?
Did I do good, can I tell?
Was I growing long ago?
Sprouting up beneath the snow
Are plants like animals without legs?
In their flowers hiding eggs
They are limited but can they see?
Will they someday be like me?
Or does our universe just teem with life?
And this the only place you’ll find such strife
Did time begin on a special day?
Long ago and far away
What makes the fragrance of the rose?
Who built the sensors in my nose?
There’s a multitude of stars beyond
Are they calling from their pond?
Will we ever fly out there?
To stars and planets everywhere?
Or is it too complex for chance?
Can you really hear the plants?
