What Do You Most Desire?

Time is burning and the world's on fire.
Tell me, love, what you most desire.
Tell me what your heart has hidden.
Is it open? Or forbidden?

If forbidden, think of days
racing past in roaring haze.
Shocked and shaken by the blast of fire,
tell me, love, what you most desire.

Tell me, love, what you most desire.
Dainty foods and soft attire?
Ancient books? Fantastic chess?
Moonlit nights? Love more, or less?

Now is the only now of our age.
Tomorrow will hold the stage.
Tell me, love, what you most desire!
Time is burning and the world on fire.
