What Beauty Is To The Geometrist
What beauty is (to the geometrist),
is the shape of the Golden Ratio!
Beauty is courage, the defiant fist
of a protector fear can't overthrow;
beauty, likewise, is a prince's sworn vow,
to defend his city, child, and ladylover;
what beauty is, is the King, who can show
Paris forgiveness (for treason discover'd);
beauty, as well, is Hector's fame recover'd
(after the legend of Troy had been lost):
beauty, in essence, is a sin cover'd,
and paid for, by his giv'n blood (as the due cost).
The golden ratio of Helen's perfect face,
at any rate, was the fall of the Trojan race.
