What Are You Wearing
In ‘olden’ times twas skirts and suits
A polished look when on the street
With crisp clean clothes and shiny shoes
Attention paid, you must look neat!
Then modern times changed everything
Casual looks soon took their place
Pants replaced skirts, hair became straight
It seemed that trend had won the race!
But then it traveled much too far
Jeans soon appeared torn at the knees
With ragged hems and worn threadbare
Waists low enough to catch a breeze!
Tops tight enough to show your ‘mounds’
And short enough for skin to fall
In gentle ‘rolls’ of belly fat
Became a trend… to see it all!
The latest fad to come around…
The tattered look replaced with ‘grime’
And this new look is not so cheap
Four hundred bucks, you’ll look ‘sublime’
I don’t care what new fashion says
I’ll wear my skirt, I’ll hide my ‘rolls’
Be clean and crisp, I’ll style my hair
I will be me, till my bell tolls!
