We'Ve Come To An Impass
Rip my beating heart out
Put it in my hands
Bloody valves and all
That would be less abrasive
Than this winding road we're on
I have loved you many years
I will continue to love you still
But everyday I die inside
Just a little bit more
You are my best friend, my trusted confidaunt
But somewhere along our journey
Some enemy lines have been clearly drawn
The fighting and the arguing
The constant need to be right
Never seeing the others view
It has really taken it's toll
This is where I wave my flag
I surrender, I give up
We've came to a holding point
An excruciating impass
Continue on as strangers
Living under the same roof
Or try and collect the pieces shattered
Put them back into place
No matter which road we take
We must do it with an open mind
And an open heart
Because I'd rather have you as my friend
Than not have you in my life at all
