I woke up and everyone was purple Except me, of course I wanna be purple I hope it’s okay that I’m still a pinkskin I hope that I’m not that different than you But maybe it’s okay to be different To be a stranger in an estrangedland Walking hand in hand with my lover Who happens to be purple, of course

Hello Benjamin, this is a lovely piece. It took me back to the Singer Prince. To each his own I say. Different is great.

I get it. I've got purple hair so, perhaps, I'm weird in this world; if so, it's by choice. Anyway, I'm me and it's ok to be different. In fact, I find it delightful. I love the theme of your poem. I will happily read more of your gems.

What a lovely comment. I once painted my hair all rainbowlike colors at a music festival once. What wonderful memories. Thanks for stopping by.

I miss Prince. He was a musical genius. And thank you for the smiles.

Aww..this is a cute one..I think you may need a touch of blue if you want to blend in with the purple people, just not too much though..

It has a whimsical, almost absurdist feel to it, but underneath, there’s a clear theme of belonging, difference, and acceptance. The imagery of wanting to be purple like everyone else but realizing it’s okay to be different gives it a simple yet thoughtful depth.
