Weight of Words
If you have nothing nice to say,
don't say anything at all.
Your opinions seem to ruin my day.
What gave you the gall
to express your unpleasant views,
about me, my physique, or my features?
Don't you think my feelings'd be bruised?
Maybe everyone could be a little sweeter,
a little more good natured,
no nice words ever seem to be savoured.
This isn't nice,
this isn't right.
Making fun of people, body shaming,
stamping labels and naming.
Even the compliments have layers.
All this negativity; we turn from lovers to slayers.
