Weeping

There was weeping this week
For a most gracious lady
Went on a journey to meet
Those gone on before

We visited in her home
Many years before
She was always loving
Welcoming us in the door

In the pastorite years
Ago many homes
Visited so
She was one to become a friend

When you go to funeral wake
There the loved ones wait
The dreaded time for the end
Tears are shed for a mate

But this time the children cried
Little ones, teens
And did not smile
When you see teenagers cry

One knows, just knows
That God was there
In her home where she
Offered love that was sent from God above

Sara, A beautiful write - so moving. It touches heart. The title attracted me to read it. I kept reading and admiring your work. Also thanks for your excellent comments on my Haiku The Buried Hearts. You are generous. -Mohammad

Sara, it sounds like this lovely woman was loved by all, young and old alike. It's not easy to move a teen to tears, but she obviously had a profound impact on many lives. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend, dear. God bless you. Love, Carolyn
