Weekends
Curled up with a very good book,
Lazy Sunday afternoon.
Relaxed after a hard weeks work,
Weekend's over too soon.
Tomorrow it will be back to the grind
But today is perfect still.
I'll stretch it out and make it last
If it takes all of my will.
I'm not ready to have it end yet,
This day has been too sweet.
But tomorrow will come and back to work,
Another eight hours on my feet.
If weekends could last a little longer
And shorten the work-week a bit,
A reversal to five days off and two on
Into my life I could fit.
