Wedding Rehearsal

Ah, groom is drinking saki .
Bride to be is having tea.
Both parents having headaches.
Kimono’s moving.

The bride’s ankles are swollen.
The groom pours bit more saki.
Ancestors, all are happy.
Soon, there will be three.

I am gonna chime in with Miss Carrie...excellent illustration of the cart before the horse. Nice twist ...full of emotion...I can individually pull out each character of this poem and imagine what he/she is thinking during this event. As Donna Summer sang back in the 80's Hot Stuff!! Gwendolen

Got a great chuckle out of this one, Deb. Best wishes in Dr. Ram's contest. Took your hint (if it was a hint) and entered the poem in your contest. A lot of free verse poems seem to be written in stream of consciousness. Love, Carolyn
