We Will Survive

********************* We will travel to the stars, Searching for a planet 'B'! All in commas, till we find what we want! For many years we will all be switched off All known planets visited, scanned for life Should the scan show positive, We will be brought back to life. Present date on earth, March thirty thousand. Earth's survived sixty-two million years plus. Give or take a year take three could be more! A pressure, we are building Our mobile, live in, station, To carry three thousand and fifty folks. The best equipment needed, to set up, A full time thriving human settlement! If, or when we do not know. Fifty years before we move. Taught all we need to know, as when we land We will, need all that knowledge, to survive! Learn to live as one, use our knowledge, live Fifty years done were ready. Remember to keep in touch! ***************************** 3/30/18 Seven-Ten - Poetry Contest, sponsored by Emile Pinet

Congrats on your win, Mick. A most pleasant read. Very optimistic on who will be sent out there though... I would suspect only the elite would be taking that journey.

Great poem with much to think about, Mick. Yes, I believe we do need to think ahead and someday your thoughts may be the truth. I am dating myself now, but I do remember a TV show named "Captain Video," and going to the Moon and all the space stuff seemed so absurd watching those shows! But...they did happen eventually. Congrats on your fine placement in the contest. Well done! Sandra

Like I said Tom, "We are the only species that live with hope", me? "Oh, I'm guilty too", yes, I hope so too... Mick
