We Wait For Thee
I long, and wait expectedly,
Oh, Bridegroom! Your Bride longs for Thee!
To hear that longed for trumpet blast
"The Bridegroom comes!"
The shout at last!
I've waited long, beneath the stars
Of dreams eternal, a Love that's ours
My oil low, I've trimmed the wick
We hope, we pray, You're coming quick!
I watched the inky Eastern skies
The fifteenth Day, diamond arise
Venus swept low, as morning Star
I prayed my Groom,
"Us! Where You are!"
My Groom bent in, my heart to kiss
Glorious thoughts,
but still amiss
Oh, all the prophesies of You
Oh Lord my King,
They Will Come True
And how we wait, breathless with pain
Oh, Come Thou Bridegroom
Back Again!
Soul weary Lord, of toil and war
The weapons fire and horrors sore
The blood of babes cry out to You
Messiah, Come, Oh King so True
The furnace smokes, it's Fires Smolder
The flaming stokes, The heat grows bolder
Again I watch the Eastward skies
You'll come with fire in Your eyes
A ringing sword, a trumpet blast
Oh King! Messiah! Your rule at Last!
Gone the hate in eyes that smolder
A rule of peace, upon Your shoulders
I long, and wait expectedly,
Oh, Bridegroom, Your Bride longs for Thee
To hear that longed for trumpet blast
"The Bridegroom comes!"
The call at last!
I've waited long, beneath the stars
Of dreams eternal, a Love that's ours
My oil low, I've trimmed the wick
We hope, we pray You're coming quick!
Till then, be our Light
Shine Inside
Through this dark night
Behold Your Bride
