We Too Shall Overcome

Suspended
clearly looking above the guilt
held fast like a driving rain
penetrating
a soiled skin laced with sin

Innocence
celebration of love     lost
in shadows of the Thames
undesirable 
burnt to dust in shame

Gallant
hearts held as one
we too shall overcome
unified
in body and blood lies love
