We the People
She stands so majestically,
As she holds the torch,
The torch of a new beginning,
With hearts full of hope,
Coming to America,
Freedom from a boat,
To Ellis Island,
With visions of hope,
For the Island is closed,
But the law still stands,
Of years past,
Legal immigration for all to see,
From those coming from overseas,
Today we face,
A whole new way,
Illegal immigration,
In the USA,
For the law is stated,
As so it should be,
They are coming over our borders,
To take jobs from you and me,
The drugs and violence,
That they bring,
Is very scary,
For our children and me,
The law is in place,
And has been for years,
If you are legal,
There is nothing to fear,
This is why,
There is a word,
Illegal immigrant,
And is just deserved,
If we do something illegal,
We are thrown into jail,
Until we are heard,
Forgive me if I sound reasonable,
But this is what I have learned,
So go ahead and try to sue us,
For we abide by the laws,
Of our founding fathers.
