We Need

We need kindness, not cruelty, Loyalty and respect. Patience, calmness, and tolerance, Not violence or arrogance. We need courage, not cowardice, To respect and not fear our fellow humans. We need to share ideas and listen, Not be stubborn or always criticize. We must appreciate the good, And accept our own mistakes, For none of us are perfect, But united, we can make progress. We should lead and be heard, Consulted, not insulted. Love, not hate, Will help us all rise above. Life is like a see-saw, When one elevates, the other falls. We must lift each other up, In a world that can often be cruel.
