We Learned of Love
How did we learn of love?
In eyes of blue fondly gazing
And our laughter softly rising—
We learned of love one anxious time
When my voice, antsy, did invite
A budding lovely on a date.
How did we learn of love?
Through holding hands one winter’s night,
By thriving on each other’s sight—
Of love we learned by accident
Through throbbing hearts, unuttered words,
And lips that melded by surprise.
How did we learn of love?
By soft breasts pressed against my chest
While kissing long and tenderly—
Oh! that innocence in her breath
And color risen to her cheeks:
Thus, did we learn of our deep love.
