We Give Thanks Three Days Before Thankgivings Day
Thanksgivings is three days away.
We celebrate in land of the fey.
Heartfelt song doth rapidly convey,
Our thanks for people for whom we pray.
The meanness of old Widow Gray
She’s sour, since being pushed away.
But secretly, we know she’s okay.
She supports orphans down yonder way.
We are thankful for our Uncle Jay.
Whose wandering feet don’t let him stay.
His amazing laugh is a loud sweet bray.
His presence like a golden sunray.
We give thanks for our creative cousin May.
She’s in a church pew every Sunday.
Gives generously to the Baptist offering tray.
Wearing a fancy slip with nary a fray.
I express thankfulness for the new freeway.
So much faster than a normal highway.
Better than toll road where you must pay
Lots to say and it is still Monday.
