We Don'T Go Out Anymore

Dancing In the cut of the sun We don't go out anymore Honey coated air Swirling silence Beckoning an empty mind Lie still always fleeting Like a memory Roaming through echos Of an ode to holding you So close to quell familiar Thoughts of diffidence I desire to feel muted Like curtains drawn As I pray the haze of morning Dew-like molasses dripping So the day holds Just a little longer So we don't go out I yearn for a quiet love Beneath these blankets of Tangled flesh

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.
