We Can See Time

We walk in wonder listening to the stream
The birds that flit, the grass so green
We breathe the air and see the colours of the sky
But do we ever really know who we are, you or I

We listen to the quiet in the night
We hold onto our joy with all our might.
But do we see darkness when it comes
Or does fate play that hand when it wants

We feel the cold in the winter sky
We know our hold onto this life
With love we find the path so strong
With love we know where we belong

The stars are out there night on night
We can see time in this dark of light
Does it make you shudder when you understand
That time owns you like it owns every woman and every man.
