We Already Knew
I took your hand as we walked through vermillion twilight
In what seemed an ancestral place, in our sight
Where a menagerie of mockingbirds softly talked
From the frangipani branches, as we walked
The pellucid water in the cove brought clarity to share
In the luscious taste of love, nothing could compare
Infused by trust, acceptance and knowing
Nothing can destroy what this beauty is showing
Ripples of affection, held a million words
We already knew, what didn’t need to be heard
