Waters Free

Streams of water
at diurnal disposal,
drip
dolce far niente.*

Lavish fill
of cavernous sink—
flotsam thoughts.

Spring up, O well!
Sing about it,
about the well that the princes dug,
that the nobles of the people sank—
the nobles with scepters and staffs.**

Paradise, O living water!
Songs bursting from pipes.
Wanderings soon over.

Like valleys they spread out,
like gardens beside a river,
like aloes planted by the Lord
like cedars beside the waters.
Water will flow from their buckets;
their seed will have abundant water.***

Water’s free
moving, soothing.
Lovely sprinkler,
O lovely splash!

Dare poet’s eyes
take time
to ponder; her lips
pursue splendor
of fountain paean.

This is lovely Kim. Water is needed in every part of our lives. It cleanses, soothes, replenishes all things. No chemical change can happen without water. We are blessed indeed with an abundance of water and shouldn't waste it as we do. Other places value clean, drinkable water over gold.. Great write here. God Bless, JB

Alas we have plenty of water, but not in the lower eastern part of the world.

Where we do, we should be thankful…thankful for what we do have. :)
