Warriors Reflection

Blade and shield down I kneel by the stream Never ending battle with beasts it seems Gazing at my reflection If not a warrior what instead As the water ripples and I see a gash from which I bled This time the beast got me older I'm not quite as fast Now fighting each battle knowing it might be my last One beast slayed always another to take its place Body feels so broken I wash blood from my face Ever tightly I tend my wound and carefully wrap Picking up my shield to my leg my blade i strap Striding over to my most trusted black steed Aside from my weapons this beauty is all i need I swing onto his back as I see the sun is rising I go galloping off to the next battle on the horizone

The inner strength of a person is not easily diminished by aging, Brenda. You have fought your battles, and are still ready to face many others. Somehow I also think of Xena when I read these latest poems of yours. I hope you too will encounter a "Gabrielle" to accompany you in your life journey. ~ Hugs // paul

I imagine you looking like a mix of Red Sonja (Brigitte Nielsen) and Xena (Warrior Princess)...nice thought, methinks. Love it! In great affection. :) john

I stood in the middle of the street one night many moons ago calling out 6 females who wanted to jump me in the club! Haha that name sticks with me to this day! I shall tell you the remainder of the story when next you call!;)
