War of Serpents

War is like a battle of serpents evil slithering from all directions Poison comes from their fangs in the form of bombs and artillery The snakes surround and strangle like tanks in the middle of the night But can you see them, smell them as they cause death and destruction Multi-colored and camouflaged they seek to kill and maim So let me take this sword and dagger and cut off the two headed snakes Let them bleed out so freedom can reign

Dear Robert, your rich use of metaphor in your potent social commentary on war is creatively candid, perfect title too for the powerful message of your poem. Congratulations for your success in sara's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Congratulations on placing in my contest. I really enjoyed how you used serpents as a metaphor for war. From your striking first lines "War is like a battle of serpents evil slithering from all directions," to your strong ending, this write is bleeding emotions.

Good poem and well said. As long as people have been on earth-since Cain killed Abel-we have chosen to kill each other. Mostly over stupid stuff.

Ah dear robert, what a powerful write this is, its so sad that war is a never ending scene we keep seeing in this world, and all we gain from that is destruction and nothing else. I really love your title for the poem and also how youv played around with words here to deliver such a profound and soulfully moving write! The ending is brilliant! Best wishes always! Sending you light always
