War Drums

War drums beat with patriotic zeal, Heroic soldiers stand to defend and heal. International aid flows to the scene, As gruesome media images paint a scene. Smart bombs and bullets rain from the sky, More soldiers sent to fight and die. But when will this cycle come to an end? When will peace and diplomacy finally blend? The beauty of spring, with its budding flowers, Is marred by the violence, that takes hold for hours. The hope for tomorrow, seems so far away, As the cost of war, rises with each passing day. Families torn apart, homes destroyed, Amidst the rubble, the world is devoid. Who will pay for this destruction and strife? More money flows, but corruption thrives. The cycle of war and destruction goes on, As we search for a way to break the bond. It's time to embrace peace and reconstruction, And put an end to this cycle of destruction.
