Notes About The Poem

WAR - An Existential View

War
asks why,
a shadow
without a name,
a tremor of doubt,
a question in the dust,
a silence that won’t explain,
a mirror with no clear answer,
a weight that presses thought to its edge,
leaving the soul to choose what meaning is.

I like how you've acknowledged how hard it is to pin down this greased watermelon we call 'War.'

No matter the clarity, the obvious reasoning...it never sits well with the heart and soul -- I don't even smash a bug if I can get him out of the house another way. Will not let anything suffer.
