Wanting You and Needing More

you are the cankers in my mouth that i cannot leave alone. i pick and chew and spit my blood, but you are still there waiting for me. subtle insecurities link us for life. you are but a drop of rain and i'm the desert. i need you, but i need so much more. you cannot quench this thist i've kept secret for years. i knew you one hundred years ago, i will know you one hundred more. we are so much wiser than the rest. yet, you cannot bare to hold me. i've had my knees rubbed raw by the carpets you've never known. i want to tell you i am ready to know your evenings, your floors, i am ready to dismantle my mangled heart. for you. it is still about you and i cannot stop. i never thought the sweat in my palms sweet, until i brushed the hair from your eyes and felt the same.
