Wanting

Dear Friend,
What longing awaits our soul?
What grief is embedded in our hearts?
We are counting the days before they start
Praying that it will end, and we will be together again,
But time has its strength and grief has its length,
Reality can be so impolite, but it can show us the light.
The happenings are many,
The changes are few,
Whatever you do,
Remember to be true,
My dear friend how much I miss you.

Nicely written. Reality sometimes needs to be impolite or we never look for the light.

I am surprised you havn't received a comment this is very good. Welcome to the soup I think you will fit in nicely. The good thing about here is that even if you don't fit in anywhere else you will here. You can be just you.
