Wanda Woman

No matter what’s in front of you
Wanda Woman is behind you
Wanda Woman!
No matter what’s behind you
Butterflies gonna pull for you!

She’s a dancer, cancer
Can’t kill her soul
She’s a winner, and in her
Is a heart of gold

She’s a mother, lover
A grand-mom too
She’s a tougher, warrior
Than the “x” you know who.

No matter what’s in front of you
Wanda Woman is behind you
Wanda Woman!
No matter what’s behind you
Butterflies gonna pull for you!

Chemo won’t flow
like her in her stride
So cold, so broke
She feels when she cries
But then, she grins
As someone walks in
You see, she’s a queen
Stronger than an elephant.

Hope, a fighting spirit and positivity certainly help with a serious disease. Your poem is nicely written, and so optimistic. Blessings, Evelyn

It was easy to pen the life experience of my aunt Wanda who beat breast cancer in exactly this same spirit. Thanks for helping me honor her during this breast cancer month.

Everyone faces things differently, but being strong and positive are the best ways to face situations like this. Nicely done

Thanks I lost a cousin age 26 to breast cancer. Her mom and my aunt Wanda had it to but beat it. Aunt Wanda died from covid this January and soon after the other aunt died too. So much of my music and stories they inspire.
