Waltzing Over Ashes

Written: January 21, 2025, for contest Sponsored by: Brian Strand ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We waltz on the edge of a wildfire where fiery flames and ashen relics, yield to the rolling tide. devotion serves as earth's eternal echo, our roots reach staunchly, the past, our thick, tattered tapestry. Yet, in the furnace of blazing flames. our spirits strengthened, akin to sculpting shiny steel the air fluffy words, a vow of balmy breezes blissful brush,  so gentle. untamed waves with whimsical, whirling heart. Our love emerges unshackled, uncelebrated, yet won't wane. Whispering of the magic of its waters, Our love is akin to a melody,  flowing quietly but eternally.

Reads like a good contender to me. The wildfires out in California are front and center. I am wondering if this is what you are speaking about. Sara K

I am sure you have written this in the backdrop of the recent California fires. Yet nothing can destroy the roots that reach staunchly. Though uncelebrated, our love won't wane. Our love is like a melody that flows quietly, but eternally. A firm and lovely assertion. Congratulations on your win.

This flowed so beautifully - loved the meter, "our roots reach staunchly, the past, our thick, tattered tapestry" how true
