Walking the Line

At first there wasn't anything
To come between your heart and mine
We had big smiles on our face
We were so happy all the time

But gradually our love would fade
We just did not see eye to eye
Partly because I'm Six Foot Eight
And you are just Four Foot Five

Though I'm not one to mope around
There's something I need off my chest
I'll not say my heart is broken
But it is badly squashed, I guess

When all of sudden you left me
For some young clown, is what they say
I knew that it must be the one
You met at our circus that day!

While I'm up there on my tight rope
Silhouetted against a sky blue
You will still be in my squashed heart
But I'll not be falling for you!

G'day PAT … on a tightrope rope Pat; I didn't think you should fall for anyone or it'll be more than your heart that is squished - thanks PAT - Lindsay

Walking the line is difficult.. But winning the heart is more.. With that squashed heart, how could you able to write such a beautiful poem?

Three rings of fun in this one. It's hard to balance things when something like this happens, there is no safety net for a squashed heart. : )
