Notes About The Poem

Walk Beside Me by Artsieladie

Walk Beside Me

Walk Beside Me, dear, neither ahead nor behind,
So should I falter through times when I am blind,
You'll be there to catch me, keep me on the right track,
When I lose my footing, please then, pull me back.

Walk Beside Me dear, not in my shadow follow,
Shine with me, dear, today and each tomorrow.
Walk Beside Me, dear, not ahead where you may not see,
When I have fallen from Grace and could be lost from thee.

Do not walk behind me, where in my shadow you'll be;
Do not walk ahead, where you will shadow me,
But Walk Beside Me, so together we will shine
And our lives, yours and mine, shall then entwine.

Walk Beside Me, dear, and with you I will do the same,
And together we will Light the way in God's Holy Name.

Thank you, Line. This is how I perceive a loving couple's relationship should be, equally and mutually respectful and appreciative, sharing their path of life together. All the best and God bless. :) ~ Artsie
