Walk Away

I remember the first day that we met It was cold and very wet I was not what you’d expect But you seem delighted with what you get The day went by so very fast We talked of things from both our pasts Under skies so overcast We wondered if we could make it last You tell secrets, as do I Things we’ve kept from prying eyes Things we feel, we don’t deny That’s the bound, the one that ties In a lot of ways we are same Mind and hearts now set aflame Knowing now it’s not a game A bond has formed, we now are changed It’s time to part and go our ways We hug, we promise, hopes convey One last kiss under skies of gray We turn around and walk away
