Wake Up With Coffee Or Tea

The smell of dark coffee brews in early morn Such a treat to wake up to, when I’m groggy and worn I’m not fond of fancy frothy coffee shop brews None of them will really do Unless you pour a spot of Irish cream to fire ups the horn When my girlfriend Susie would come over to stew I always put on a fresh pot of dark roasted coffee to brew I have always been a softy when giving her a caring shoulder We enjoyed the bliss of coffee and Baileys Irish Cream liqueur to make us bolder. Friendship with laughter is a treasure with a sip of coffee will always do When I was young, Mommy would sometimes wake up looking like a fuddled zombie, But As soon as she’d have her first cup of sugary with cream coffee She’d be our mommy again cooking us something good for our tummies. 12/9/2016

This was great Eve, especially the ending..."she'd be our mommy again" That brought me chuckle. I'm with you though, forget that coffee shop fancy stuff, give me a cup of strong black coffee. Nicely done my friend. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you, Chris, it is so funny but my mummy of 84 still has to take her sugary and cream in her coffee or she is a grouch... but still love her... would you believe when I was little about 10 she use to send me to the store to buy her her Bugler a roll-your-own brand of tobacco and rolling papers. Now it is a different story Hugs Eve
