Wake Up It Is New Years Day
Wake up! Wake up! It is New Year’s Day
Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!
Mom barely opens her eyes, her face is gray.
She is not ready to two-step or do a sashay.
Dad’s snoring continues in a dreamland way.
Let’s get Daddy up, okay? Okay?
Mom gives them a shushing look this Tuesday.
They tiptoe downstairs and fix his food on a tray.
