Wake of the Storm
Finally the storm began to restrain,
lightening, thunder, a deluging rain,
came to an abrupt , but fretful decline:
clouds weakly applaud the rising sunshine.'
Rays of sunlight dance through the steam clinging,
to still lake water, then float wistfully,
on eerie morning clouds of fog twisting,
with the mist drifting skyward aimlessly.
Tiny radiant rainbow rays sparkle
in rain droplets that gather and nestle,
on slender blades of matted grass and leaves,
drooping from weighted branches in the trees.
